I’ve been blogging since 2007 and Nature Notes since 2008. I have made friends online over the years and at one time my blog was a more personal blog and I talked about everyday life. Now that I am just doing Nature Notes, this is my way of being in contact. This has been a more stressful year requiring much more travel because of illness in my family. But everything will be Ok at some point.

Have a wonderful nature-filled week! Please be safe.

My daughter is going to need help for some time and lives 4 hours away. I did this post as best I could on my phone, but at least people will be able to link up. I do love this moon shot from my archives.

My 2-year old granddaughter Brie is medically fragile with a gastric feeding tube. We have been thrilled with her progress on her feeding issue and her developmental milestones after a year of repeated hospitalizations. I sent her a book in zoo animals that she can play their sounds and she loves it….We are all trying to keep her safe from any illness, especially COVID

The Peace of Wild Things

WENDELL BERRY

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Have a wonderful nature-filled week! Please be safe.
