This has been a strange fall with very cold, windy wet days alternating with some unusually warm temperatures….
look…blue sky and clouds….no leaves…but blue sky

A hairy woodpecker

The American goldfinch could eat thistle seed without needing to hang on for dear life as the feeders have blown in the wind lately.

“Am I getting a good suntan yet”, says the house sparrow.

“Look at me, I am hanging up-side-down”, says the downy woodpecker.

I like most the beautiful woodpecker!
I think I need to think about some sort of bird feeder!
After very heavy (and much needed I might add) rain all morning, the skies have finally cleared but it is so windy that my birds and I were trying to maintain our balance when I was just filling the feeders, Michelle!…:)jp HAPPY THANKSGIVING, my friend!
Beautiful photos – it’s so lovely to see your blog again! I’ll have to sync up with nature notes once Thanksgiving is over. Hope all is well!! – Cynthia
I love the woodpeckers!
